Miedo, soledad, espera, gratitud, enfermedad.

No te apures a concluir.

FOR PRAYER GROUPS AND FAMILIES

The book you open when the group gathers

Every week someone asks the same question: what are we reading today?

265 devotionals and 100 prayers, with no dates and no required order. You look up what the group is carrying that week — fear, exhaustion, waiting, grief — and go straight to that page. Available in two editions: English and Spanish.

Devotional Lights of Hope, English edition Devocional Luces de Esperanza, Spanish edition

How it works when you read it together

Nothing to prepare, no order to follow, and no one falls behind for missing a week. You open it and read.

Someone asks how each person arrived

Tired, worried, grateful, grieving. That week's answer chooses the reading.

Look it up by what they're feeling

Fear, loneliness, waiting, gratitude, illness. Go straight to the page that speaks to it.

Read it aloud — about three minutes

A verse, a true-to-life story and a reflection. Enough to start the conversation.

Close with the prayer

Every three devotionals there's a full prayer, written to be read aloud together.

The index doesn't run by date. It runs by what hurts.

That's the difference from a 365-day devotional. No one is behind and no one skips anything: you look up what's happening today.

DEVOTIONAL 38
PSALM 30:5

"For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."

The Longest Hour

JOY COMETH IN THE MORNING

THE STORY

A night-shift nurse used to warn newly admitted patients about something that appeared in no medical chart: between three and five in the morning, the pain would seem worse and their thoughts darker. She asked them not to make any important decision in that window.

Over the years she found that almost no one believed her until they lived it. Many patients rang the bell at dawn, convinced they had taken a serious turn for the worse, and by nine in the morning — same medication, same diagnosis — they were apologizing, embarrassed. The body and the mind measure differently depending on the hour.

THE REFLECTION

The psalm does not deny the night, nor does it promise that weeping will not come. It says the weeping will last the night — a real duration — and that joy will come in the morning. There is an economy of time in faith worth learning: pain has an expiration date, and God's favor does not.

If you are in the longest hour, do not make final decisions today about your life, your faith or your marriage. What looks like a verdict at three in the morning is usually a season by nine. Do not rush to a conclusion. Hold on until it is light, because in Scripture the night is never the final chapter.

— 70 —

One of 265. Every three devotionals, a full prayer follows.

And at home, the same book

What starts in the group ends up on the kitchen table. Many families read one in the morning before everyone leaves, or one at night before bed. Three minutes, and there's something to talk about that isn't work or bills.

First things first

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

MATTHEW 6:33

This book is not the important part. What matters is the time you set aside each week to seek Him. If these pages help make that time go deeper, they've done their job.

Before you ask

Does it still work if we miss a week?

Yes. The book has no dates and no required continuity. You open it wherever it's needed that day, so no one falls behind.

How long is one reading?

About three minutes read aloud. The conversation it opens usually runs much longer.

Do we need one copy per person?

No. One copy is enough to read aloud. But most groups end up wanting their own, to underline and use at home.

Does the book include both languages?

No. These are two separate editions, each complete in its own language: Lights of Hope in English and Luces de Esperanza in Spanish. They're purchased separately.

Can we use it as a family and not just in a group?

Yes. Many read one in the morning before leaving or one at night before bed. Same book.

So next Monday you already know what you're reading

In print for the meeting, or digital to start this very week.
